Our History

KopTaCo was officially setup in 1997, as part of the Unscheduled Bus Service transport reform.  The small transport providers operators formed a cooperative to provide a people transport service within the Maltese Islands through the use of coaches.  Hence the name KopTaCo, KOPerattiva TAl-COaches (Coaches Cooperative), with the service being regarded to be a good fit and would compliment existing services.

As our customers’ needs continued to change and increase, we expanded our services and vehicles to accommodate new customer requests and volumes.  Members started investing in minivans as well as chauffeur driven cars.  The transport services provided also grew vastly and diversified, with airport transfers, point-to-point transportation, schools and work groups transportation, as well as tours around the Islands on a daily basis.  KopTaCo has also had the privilege to serve a number of single and group VIPs such as the famous football teams of A.C. Milan and Parma F.C..

At present, KopTaCo operates over 30 motor coaches, 25 minivans and 15 chauffeur vehicles, as well as making use of various other subcontractors which we trust to provide a good service.  We are fortunate enough to have friendly full time and part time staff who manage the transportation of hundreds of passengers per day all over the Maltese Islands.  In order to provide an always improving scheduling service, KopTaCo is in the process of installing a tracking system to all of its vehicles.  Koptaco is also committed to the continuous upgrading of its fleet and is shifting to greener and more efficient vehicles.  Investing in more modern vehicles will also result in safer vehicles, with passengers transported in more comfortable vehicles having an increasing number of commodities.
